Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 18 of 23 · Interacting With Authority
Write about a time you were right and it still cost you. Where did it turn?
Why separate what is right from what happens next?
- A Because what is right does not matter.
- B Because being right has never gotten anybody out of a car faster, and the place where being right has power is afterward, on paper.
- C Because you should never speak up.
- D Because nobody will believe you either way.
Write the two sentences from memory. Then write what you would need to do to say them flat instead of hot.
What should you do within the hour after something happens?
- A Post about it.
- B Write down name, badge, time, location, what got said and who saw it, while it is exact.
- C Nothing, it will not matter.
- D Tell everybody in your circle.
Your officer has discretion, and what they already believe about you decides a lot. Write honestly what they currently believe, and what built it.
Nobody reads this one. Is there something going wrong right now that you have not told them, that they are going to find out anyway?
Jesus told Pilate he would have no power unless it had been given from above. What kind of posture is that?
- A Disrespect that made it worse.
- B A man in chains standing in front of power without begging it and without handing it a reason.
- C Him giving up.
- D A threat.
Nobody reads this one. What would it take for you to stay level with somebody who has power over you and does not respect you?
Nothing you write here goes to your officer, your school or your family.
