The Work
Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 19 of 23 · Mentorship and Peer Accountability
Who has told you the truth when it cost them something? If nobody, write that.
Who has been the most consistent person in your life? Write what you picked up from them, good and bad.
What decides who shapes you?
- A Who you admire most.
- B Who is consistently around, whether they are good for you or not.
- C Your family, always.
- D Nobody, people shape themselves.
What is the real test of somebody who says they are there for you?
- A How much they know.
- B Whether they are still picking up in month six when nothing exciting is happening.
- C Whether they have money.
- D Whether they came from where you came from.
Name somebody who could be that for you, or write plainly that you cannot think of anybody. Then write the one thing you would ask if you knew they would not judge you.
Nobody reads this one. Who have you given permission to tell you something you do not want to hear? If nobody, why not?
Barnabas vouched for Saul when everybody else was still scared of him. What made the difference?
- A Saul convinced them himself.
- B Somebody with credibility was willing to stand next to a man who did not look like a good bet yet.
- C They had no choice.
- D Time passed and people forgot.
Nobody reads this one. Who would you be willing to vouch for right now, knowing it could come back on you?
