Week 3 · Lesson 1
The Work
Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 3 of 23 · Choices and Peer Pressure
The last time you knew before it started. Do not write what happened. Write the exact moment you knew.
What does real pressure actually sound like?
- A Somebody saying come on, everybody is doing it.
- B Silence. Not asking where we going, not wanting to be the only one somewhere different.
- C Being threatened straight up.
- D Being offered money.
Take the last thing that went bad and find four decisions that came before the one everybody blamed. Write all four.
Where does somebody who wants to change actually get better?
- A In the moment, by being stronger.
- B Three moves earlier, where it is quiet and costs almost nothing.
- C By cutting everybody off at once.
- D By staying in the house permanently.
Nobody reads this one. Three people in a car and all three caught it. Which one have you been, and what were you really avoiding by being out that night?
The skill is being able to be somewhere by yourself for ten minutes without it eating you. Write what happens in your head when you are by yourself with nothing to do.
Everything Jesus got offered in the wilderness was already going to be His. What does that say about the offers you get?
- A They are all lies and none of it is real.
- B They are shortcuts to something real, with the cost moved somewhere you cannot see yet.
- C Some offers are fine to take.
- D It only applies to Him, not to you.
He had already decided who He was before He got hungry, which is why hungry did not change the answer. Write what you have already decided about yourself that no situation gets to change. If you have not decided anything yet, write that instead.
Nothing you write here goes to your officer, your school or your family.
