Week 15 · Lesson 1
The Work
Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 15 of 23 · Life Skills and Future Planning
Which do you have and which are you missing: ID, social, birth certificate, a number that stays, an address where mail lands?
The last three things that fell through. For each, was it that you did not want it, or something boring?
Why does a number that stays the same matter so much?
- A It does not, people can find you.
- B Every time it changes, everybody trying to reach you stops being able to, including the ones who would help.
- C It looks more professional.
- D Because of the phone bill.
The one thing you are missing that would unlock the most. Write the actual next step, not the goal. Where do you go, what does it cost, what do you bring.
The man who missed his appointment said the system is set up so you cannot win. What is the honest read?
- A He is right and there was nothing he could do.
- B He is wrong and it was all on him.
- C Both are true at once, and holding both is the whole skill.
- D He should not have scheduled it that early.
Nobody reads this one. What have you been calling bad luck that was actually something boring you did not do?
Jesus told people to count the cost before building. Why did He say it about following Him?
- A To talk people out of it.
- B Because He did not want anybody signing up on a feeling and quitting in five weeks.
- C Because it costs money.
- D Because only some people qualify.
Nobody reads this one. If you sat down and counted what changing your life actually costs, what is the number, and are you willing to pay it?
Nothing you write here goes to your officer, your school or your family.
