Week 7 · Lesson 1
The Work
Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 7 of 23 · Anger Management
What is the sentence that shows up in your head right before it goes bad? Write it word for word.
What is anger actually for?
- A Nothing, it is a weakness to get rid of.
- B It is a signal that something got crossed. It is information, not instructions.
- C It is how you protect yourself, so follow it.
- D It is a sin.
The last time anger came up, what was it telling you got crossed? Not what you did. What it was saying.
Five thoughts that lie: reading minds, all or nothing, fortune telling, making it about you, blowing it up. Which two are yours, and what did each one cost you?
Nobody reads this one. When was the last time you were in a whole fight that only ever happened in your head?
A mind that assumes the worst was trained by what?
- A Watching too much television.
- B A life where the worst thing usually was happening, so it learned to get ahead of it.
- C Being naturally negative.
- D Not enough sleep.
Jesus sat down and made a whip before clearing the temple. Why does that detail matter?
- A It shows He lost control.
- B It shows He felt all of it and still acted on purpose instead of reacting.
- C It shows He planned it for weeks.
- D It is not important.
He was angry about people being used, not about being disrespected. Write what your anger is usually about. Then write honestly whether it is about somebody being hurt or about you being tested.
Nothing you write here goes to your officer, your school or your family.
