The Work
Eight questions. What you write is read by your facilitator and nobody else. Not your officer, not your school, not your family, and not in any report. Two of these you do not write down at all.
Week 2 of 23 · Unforgiveness and Grace
What actually got taken from you, and by who? Write the thing itself, not the story around it.
Now the bill. What has carrying it cost you since? Sleep, chances you did not take, somebody who caught it who did not deserve it. Be specific.
Forgiving somebody means you have to let them back in your life.
- A True, otherwise you did not really forgive them.
- B False. Forgiveness is about what you carry. Trust is about what they earn.
- C True, but only if they apologize first.
- D False, but only when it was something serious.
Which one means you are still paying?
- A You remember what happened.
- B You stay away from where they are.
- C You rehearse the conversation and have won it two hundred times in your head.
- D You told one person about it.
Nobody reads this one. Who have you taken it out on that never owed you anything?
Nobody reads this one either. The one you would not say out loud. What did they owe you that they never gave?
The same man who said Father forgive them also made a whip and drove people out of the temple. What does that tell you about forgiveness?
- A He changed His mind depending on the day.
- B Forgiving is not the same as being soft or being run over.
- C Some people do not get forgiven.
- D He only forgave when He had no other option.
He said it while it was still happening, not after He was safe. Write what stands between you and saying one name out loud this week. Be honest, because the thing in the way is the actual lesson.
