For parents and guardians

You can do this without anybody’s permission

Most people assume a program like this requires a court, a caseworker or a referral from a school. It does not. If you are a parent or guardian and you want your child in this, you enroll them and they start.

There is no fee. There is never going to be a fee. Nobody is going to ask you for insurance or for a payment plan.

What happens after you sign up

1. You fill out a short form. Your child’s name, your name, a phone number and an email that reaches you.
2. We email you a link. That link opens the consent form, and you sign it right there on your phone. Nothing is printed, nothing is mailed, and nothing has to be notarized.
3. Your child agrees to their own participation, in their own words, on their own screen. That matters, and it is deliberate.
4. Once both are signed, the program opens up and week one starts.

If the email does not arrive, check spam first, then call us. We can send it again in about ten seconds.

What you will and will not see

You will see whether your child is showing up, what week they are on, and what they have completed. You get told if they stop coming.

You will not see what they write in their reflection work, and neither will their probation officer or their school. That was not an oversight. A young person will not write anything true if they think it is going to be read back to them at a dinner table or in a courtroom.

The exception is the one every program has and should: if a young person tells us they are in danger, or somebody is hurting them, that goes to the people who can act on it, immediately.

If you have already lost your patience

Plenty of parents come to this after everything else. After the calls from the school, after the arrest, after a year of not recognizing their own child.

That is a normal place to start from. Nobody here is going to make you explain how it got this far.
